In 2013, I started making long solo drives from Burlington out to Vermont’s remote northeast kingdom to work on a long shot dream project.

For two summers, I dug a quarter mile manicured walking path with over 130 cedar stairs ascending up to a hilltop lookout. The next idea was a skate ramp. Evan and Colin joined in and for another two summers we carried lumber up the path with hopes of completing something awe-inspiring at the lookout. In 2016 the ramp was finished enough to throw a big party, and that's how it stood for the next 6 years.

This had been a no social media zone from the start, but seeing its condition in 2022 I realized all this time and energy needed to be preserved. I fixed everything back to its original state: clearing down trees off the driveway and path, and fixing many broken stairs. I finished the ramp to 100% and even added the painted banners, an original idea that I never quite got around to.

Then, with everything at its full glory, we captured the experience on super 8mm film: an early morning in Burlington, the long drive north, and finding a hidden path way out there where the road turns to forest.
